About Zero Gravity
Zero Gravity is in its second year as an Open club team in Dallas, Texas. In year two, ZG looks forward to continuing the development of the area’s younger generation of players and also building on the success from last season.
History
During the fall of 2013, founders Micah Rehfuss and Michael Woolley felt that there was a need for a 2nd developmental team in DFW. At the time, both were captains of their respective college teams and wanted to allow for their colleagues the chance to get better during the summer. In the early part of May 2014, ZG held its very first tryout.
With the growth of the youth & college scene and limited spots on current teams, Rehfuss and Woolley expect their to be a high demand for a team like ZOG. In year one, Zero Gravity had players who represented TCU, UNT, SMU, UTD, UT, Rice, and Spring Hill College in Alabama. The team would go on to compete in Texas 2 Finger, PB&J, and Texas Sectionals. Each tournament the team grew and became competitive even against some of the more elite teams.
The 2015 college season was a banner year for the North Texas Conference where the section was awarded 3 bids to Regionals for the very first time, proving that ZOG had worked. Following a successful college season, Zero Gravity was back for a 2nd year. Graduating some of its players to other teams around the area, ZG looked to reload and strengthen its team with new players. With new pick ups now including players from Baylor, Midwestern State, and even from Marcus High School, the team was ready to get to work.
The 2015 club season is currently underway and ZG looks to have an even more promising season ahead.
